Samsung wins right to see Apple-HTC accord
The victory will allow Samsung to determine which of Apples patents are covered by the agreement, a vital element in fighting its own patent battle with Apple. In August a US judge awarded the Cupertino-based iPhone maker $1.05bn for Samsung's violation of certain Apple-held patents. Samsung is in the process of appealing that decision and information on the HTC-Apple accord could prove key to the outcome of both the appeal and Apple's campaign to have some Samsung products excluded from the US market.
